Our Senior Vice Commander Mike McDonald Hits the Front Page of the St. Petersburg Times. After President Obama's speech Mike is questioned about his view. Read his response in the linked article below.
Mike will be signing autographs this weekend.

[MELISSA LYTTLE | Times]
Mike McDonald piloted Army helicopters in Vietnam and said the draft should be reinstated if the United States is going to keep fighting in the Middle East.
Reaction to President Obama's declaration that "the American combat mission in Iraq has ended" is mixed in Tampa Bay.

I am honored to have been elected your new Commander. I thank each of you for the trust you have shown by placing me in this position. I also wish to express my gratitude and thanks to Tom Mulvey for the great job he did as our Commander during 2009 and 2010.
We had an active month in May. Our Memorial Day service was well attended and special thanks go out to our Senior Vice Commander, Mike McDonald for organizing and leading us in this service. I also appreciate the Ladies Auxiliary for their help in the Kitchen. It takes everyone to make these events a success.
This Independence Day we will celebrate by having an Old Time 4th of July cookout. Hamburgers, hot dogs and draft beer will be 50 cents from noon until 4 pm. The Ladies Auxiliary will have a raffle for a Basket of Cheer. During the month of August we are having all draft beer and well drinks at reduced prices. Lets have a good time together this summer.
In order for this post to succeed we need more members to volunteer and step up. Our officers have many events and functions planned for the next year. But, these functions depend on volunteers. We need help in the kitchen for our dinners. We need volunteers to keep these dinners running, without them we will have to cancel events that our members and the community has come to depend on. Volunteer sheets are now on the bulletin board and I encourage each of you to sign up to help out.
The new administration of this post look forward to a prosperous and productive year ahead. We depend on your help to make this happen.
